Ableton Better On Mac Or Pc

06.01.2021
Hi guys

Omnisphere 2 third party sounds. I use PC at home and Mac at work. For ease of use and less set up time, Macs are typically better but obviously, they come at a price premium and in some ways give you less flexibility (hardware and software choices), and in others more (being able to run XP on bootcamp or Parallels as well as Mac OSX). While Mac hardware and software is denoted by its stability, the difference here has lessened. The odds of getting a virus or malware with a PC remain higher than with a Mac, but this is more about the numbers game than technology. About 7.5% of the computers in use are Mac, according to IDC, so hackers spend more time and creativity attacking PCs. Any idea on the percentage of Ableton users on PC vs Mac? I did my sums and research and many creative were saying the DELL PRECISION 5520 was a better machine than the Mac when I bought it, and had double the everything (32GBRAM, Xeon, 1TB SSD, touch screen, infinity edge etc. For same price as Mac Pro.

Nov 16, 2017  We cover specs and other things to look when buying a new desktop or laptop for music production. Zulu dj software. This year we talk about Apple products and Window. I started using ableton on pc, it was a gaming rig, so enough power, but then I moved onto macbook pro and never looked back. Its just feels like ableton is better optimized for mac: everything from loading project to latency with ext audio components works way better on mac. Just my experience. Feb 14, 2019 Does your church need the Midi module to do automation with lights or automation of ProPresenter from Ableton Live? Then the Mac version is the one you should choose. Mac Recommendation. If you’re going for a Mac, take a look at the new Mini which starts at $799. If you want more than the base amount of storage, it will cost you ($200 for the upgrade to 256 GB), but unlike the RAM, which is upgradeable, the SSD is soldered on the board, so you’ll need to decide that at time of purchase.

For a variety of reasons I'm considering switching back to Windows after being on Mac for a decade
I would love to hear ya'lls thoughts on pros and cons of using Windows for music production in the current computer market and specifically stability - do you guys trust your windows systems for live performance? Audio interface driver weirdnesses?
'Back in the day', Windows XP didn't seem to be as stable overall as OS X but obviously it's 2018
Long story short, apple sent me a brand new max'ed out macbook pro for free to replace an old one but it's not stable and I hate the touch bar. mac support use to be stellar but not so much anymore. The temptation to sell it for around $3k and get a windows computer is strong. Considering even selling it and getting a 2015 macbook pro.
Curious for any and all thoughts, cheersI'm using a Firepod (firewire) and seriously consider a Mac purchase.
From reading some of the other threads Vista / Xp need tweaked to be passable, currently using Xp and bandmates and I notice a good deal of latency when using the audio on when recording.
Is ableton better on mac or pc Would this be different in the world of mac since it has built in audio drivers?
Is it due to firewire?
Are there any issues with a firewire audio devices and Mac?
